Gansu Province is called “Gan” or “Long” for short. Located in the upper reaches of Yellow River, northwest China, Gansu is one of the cradles of Chinese culture and nation, and the famous Silk Road passes through it. It has jurisdiction over 14 cities and prefectures, namely Lanzhou, Jinchang, Baiyin, Tianshui, Jiayuguan, Wuwei, Zhangye, Pingliang, Jiuquan, Qingyang, Dingxi, and Longnan Cities, Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture and Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. It occupies a total area of 454,000 square kilometres and has a population of 26,187,800. Gansu is pronounced multi-nationality cultural atmosphere, such as Han, Hui, Tibet, Mongolian, Yugu, Bao'an, Dongxiang and Kazak. The provincial capital is Lanzhou City.
